Ryders Hayes is Lead School in the Project

We are the hub for Early Years settings and Primary Schools who wish to collaborate, learn together, question, challenge and innovate to improve provision and achievement for our youngest learners, through our Language First programme.

Project Lead, Sally Miner, Head Teacher at Ryders Hayes and Lead Practitioner, Victoria Day, Assistant Head Teacher (Early Years) are driving the project. Victoria is a highly experienced and motivated Early Years professional with 14 experience as an EY classroom teacher, senior leader, Local Authority adviser and Early Years Specialist Leader of Education (SLE). Through this breadth of roles, she has developed an extensive knowledge and expertise across all aspects of Early Years Foundation Stage. She has a proven track record of improving quality and raising standards through both training delivery and working directly with schools, Local Authorities and private and independent sectors. Victoria is also an accredited ECERS and ITERS assessor. She has created EY Teaching and Learning programmes in partnership with Black Country Teaching School Collaborative. Her extensive experience of assessment and quality assurance within Phonics, including her roles as a Local Authority Year 1 Phonics moderator has helped to shape the Literacy elements of the project.
