A Message from the Head Teachers

We are proud to introduce you to Ryders Hayes. Ryders Hayes school is a two-form entry primary academy for children aged 2 to 11, with a 60 place Nursery; extensive 30 hours provision for working parents and a pre-school offering Government funded 15hrs free childcare children as well as self-funded places. We have over 460 children on roll including our pre-school children.

Our overriding aim is to foster a dynamic; positive, safe and happy learning environment, where our children and staff can thrive, flourish and be challenged, both academically, spiritually and socially, to be the very best they can be. Our child-centred and evidence-informed approach, addresses the needs of the whole child; providing them with crutial life-skills as well as the firm and deep academic foundations they need through: excellent role models; high aspiration, expectation and encouragement to achieve. We develop children’s curiosity about learning, themselves, their peers, their community and the world; inclusive practice; a sense of community (local and global) and strong moral purpose, along with the encouragement of a life-long love of learning and desire to achieve maximum levels of independence.

Through our teaching at Ryders Hayes we aim to develop a child’s understanding of how they learn best and our shared values, with opportunities for their application on a daily basis.

We were one of the first Primary National Teaching Schools in 2011, Ryders Hayes was designated after a successful pilot, by the National College for Teaching and Learning. We have delivered bespoke training and continuing professional development to hundreds of teachers and support staff across the Region. We are at the cutting edge of education: a number of our staff are experienced facilitators, Evidence Leads in Education, trained to support other teachers in developing their classroom practice. We are proud Primary Lead Partners of Barr Beacon SCITT and are dedicated to training the teachers of the future.

In September 2024, Primary Learning Trust was established when Ryders Hayes School converted from a Single Academy Trust to a Multi-Academy Trust. Ryders Hayes was a first-wave Primary Conversion Academy in 2011.

In September 2024 Ryders Hayes Academy and New Invention Learning Academy (formally New Invention Juniors) joined forces to become Primary Learning Trust as the founder schools.

The Trust firmly believes in building solid foundations for a sustainable future.

Ryders Hayes School is a happy; caring; vibrant, innovative and forward-looking school; yet one steeped in tradition, with a strong moral code. With a reputation for high quality education within its community, and children at the heart of everything we do, the staff and pupils look forward to meeting you.
