Transition
Every September children will join their fellow classmates in their new class, with their new teacher and get used to the new routines and expectations in their next stage of learning. At Ryders Hayes we start this journey before the Summer break, with a couple of days transition into new classes in July and a Parent Induction Evening. As a result, upon returning after 6 weeks, children and their parents are already familiar with all the changes and do not worry over the holidays about the unknown.

During the transition days in their new class children and their new teacher getting to know each other in preparation for the next academic year. Throughout the days children share their learning styles, interests, aspirations, personal targets and discuss the changes that lie ahead of them.
Transition Days are a very important time as they help everyone to get ready, both mentally and practically, and feel prepared for our return in September. At the beginning of the week parents have the opportunity to attend an Induction Evening where they are able to have a 1:1 meeting with the new class teacher to share further information and are sent a presentation/recording detailing information about what the following academic year entails for their child and meet the team.
