Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium is additional funding allocated to schools for the specific purpose of boosting the attainment and closing the academic gap for pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. Funding allocations are calculated based on specific criteria determined by the Department for Education (DfE).
Eligible Pupils Criteria

A pupil qualifies for Pupil Premium funding if they meet any of the following criteria:
-
Free School Meals (FSM Ever 6): Registered as eligible for Free School Meals at any point in the last six years.
-
Looked After Children (LAC): Looked after by the Local Authority continuously for 1 day or more.
-
Previously Looked After Children (PLAC): Adopted from care, or left care under a Special Guardianship Order or Child Arrangements Order.
-
Service Premium: Pupils with a parent currently serving in the Armed Forces, or who has been registered as a "service child" in the last six years.

Our comprehensive Pupil Premium Policy and annual strategy statement can be viewed under the Policies and Documents tab within the About Us section of our school website.

Why has it been introduced?
Why has it been introduced?
The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between pupils eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and their wealthier peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most. Whilst schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they see fit we are required to publish online information about how we have used the Premium.
