Admissions
Ryders Hayes has Academy Status. This means that we are a state school offering free education to any child who meets our admission criteria, but are independent of the Local Authority. We are not selective and serve our catchment as any other Walsall school. We receive our funding directly from the Department for Education. We employ our own staff; are responsible for the school building and grounds, having more flexibility with our curriculum and how our budget is spent, with the child at the centre of every decision. Our Trustees believe that being an academy gives parents at Ryders Hayes School a better deal for their child. We manage our own admissions to Nursery and Pre-School and organise our own appeals process. Walsall Local Authority manage Reception admissions, whilst we as a school manage our own mid-year admissions into all year groups.
Prior to completing the Mid-year Admissions Form, we expect families to make contact with the school so that a meeting can be arranged with the Head Teacher/ SLT along with a visit to the school. Please contact the Main Office on 01922 683008.
All related policies can be found under About Us in Policies and Documents section.
Please find the relevant form to start the Mid-year application process below:
Following completion of the Admissions Form and a visit to the school, your application will be presented to the Primary Learning Trust Admissions Committee within 5 days of completion. The committee has 10 days to review your request. The outcome will be shared with you no more than 15 days following the committee decision.
