Faith and Culture
Here at Ryders Hayes Primary School, we are proud of the many aspects of faith and culture we promote, especially given our predominantly White-British demographic. Our children and staff are encouraged to show a particular interest in the faith, culture and belifes of other groups and to welcome them into our school.
Religious Education is taught throughout the school. A range of religions, questions centred on ideas, morals and cultures are explored. Children are encouraged to develop informed opinions through inquisitive questioning and being open-minded. Whilst not a faith school we known for our strong moral values.
Throughout the year, special events are celebrated. These take place in a variety of forms, with different staff and leaders within the community. Each week, a whole school assembly is devoted to exploring social and moral issues that affect our children as well as topical, national and global themes. Every fortnight special certificate assemblies are held to applaud children for their academic efforts and exemplary behaviour. Religious leaders from a range of faiths come in to school to explore ideas and beliefs through assemblies and classroom teaching. Festivals from different religions are welcomed and celebrated throughout the school calendar.
