Every September children will join their fellow classmates in their new class, with their new teacher and get use to routines, expectations in their next stage of learning. At Ryders Hayes we start this journey before the Summer break so that upon returning after 6 weeks break children are familiar with all the changes and do not worry over the holidays about the unknown.

During the last few weeks in the Summer term all children spend one week in their new class, with their new teacher getting to know each other in preparation for the next academic year. Throughout the week children will share their learning styles, interests, things they wish to develop and discuss the changes that lay ahead of them.

Transition Week is a very important time for both the children and staff as it helps to get ready and feel prepared for when we all return in September. At the beginning of the week parents have the opportunity to attend an Induction Evening where parents have the opportunity to find out from the whole Year group team, what the following academic year entails for their child.
